2023 School Placement: Complete Guide for BECE Candidates

The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) is a standardized test administered by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) to assess the academic achievement of students at the end of their Junior High School years.

It is taken by students in Ghana and other West African countries. The results of the exam are used for school placement, either in the public or private sector.

There are several factors to consider when selecting a school for your 2023 school placement. These include the type of school you want; public or private, the location, quality of teaching and facilities, and the cost. Additionally, you should also consider the academic performance of the school and the school’s overall reputation.

The BECE school placement process has several steps, so it’s important to prepare and understand each of them. This article will provide everything you need to know about the BECE school placement process in 2023.

What is school placement about?

Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) instantaneously place students in one of the five secondary schools they selected during the Basic Education Certificate Education (BECE) enrollment process. The placement is entirely based on the student’s performance.

When will School Placement be released?

SHS 1 students are expected to report to school on 20th February 2023. The MoE often releases the school placements latest one week before the reopening date for SHS 1 students. Hence, we project that the 2023 computerized school placement for 2022 BECE graduates would be released between 8th February and 13th February
