When will the School Placement be released

The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) is an important examination taken by students in Ghana at the end of their Junior High School (JHS) education. The results of the BECE are used by the Ghana Education Service (GES) to place students in their respective Senior High Schools (SHS). As such, the release of the BECE results is a very important event for students and their families in Ghana.

The GES has a very strict process when it comes to the placement of students in Senior High Schools. The GES considers many factors when placing students in schools including the student’s performance in the BECE, the school’s capacity, and the preferences of the student and their families.

Once the GES has completed the process of placing students in schools, the list of placements is made available to the public.

2. Choose a card type (e.g., CSSPS Placement Checker 2023).
3. Enter the quantity; total calculates automatically.
4. Click “Buy Now” and enter your name and phone number.
5. Select “Proceed to Payment”.
6. Choose Mobile Money, provide your number, and confirm with OTP.
7. Approve the payment on your phone.
8. Await SMS confirmation and the delivery of your checker after placements are released.

When will the School Placement for 2023 be released?

In recent times, the GES typically releases the BECE school placement in mid-January every year. The placement is usually released a few days to weeks after the BECE results are released.

The 2023 Computerised School Placement is projected to be released on 23rd November 2023 for students to check.

It is important to note that the BECE school placement is not always the same as the student’s first choice of school. The GES & CSSPS have the final say in which school a student is placed in.

Once the BECE school placement is released, students and their families are encouraged visit the School placement portal to see if the student has been placed in their desired school. If the student is not placed in their desired school, they can appeal the placement or apply to the school of their choice.

How to check BECE School placement

1. Visit CSSPS BECE Placement Checker Portal at www.cssps.org
2. Enter your 10-digits BECE index number followed by the year.
3. Enter the eVoucher Code (12-digits voucher number).
4. Click on the Proceed button.
5. Wait for a new window with your School Placement to show up.
