Universities and Tertiary Institutions in Ghana that Accept D7
The minimum grade acceptable at all state-owned universities in Ghana is C6. If you don’t score from A1 to C6 in your subjects, thus both the core and elective subjects, you will not be able to apply.
Sometimes it can be very disappointing because it could be that one subject that prevents you from being accepted to the university you have always dreamt of attending.
There is good news, though: certain technical and private universities will accept your D7! Some will admit you if you agree to rewrite your subjects through NOV/DEC. Others will also provide pre-programs for candidates to study and write the exams while still in school.
Government institutions will not admit you with D7 for undergraduate or degree programs. However, they can accept the grade for certificate and auxiliary programs.
So you might ask? What if I fail the NOV/DEC again? We will answer that, but first, check out the schools that will accept your D7 grade below;

You can apply to any of the schools above with your D7, and they will accept you; however, each will have its requirements.
If you agree to write the NOV/DEC but fail, you will keep writing until you get it right. But if you get it right before you graduate, the school will only hold your certificate once you produce the required grade.
It may sound like a stretch, but if you put your mind to it and study harder, you can produce that grade even before graduating.
Some private institutions will not worry you with re-sits, but their fees are pretty expensive. However, if you can afford it, then why not? Please apply to the school of your choice, the one with the program you want to read on their list, and wait to be called for school.
Takeaway
Even though it is strongly recommended to re-sit your subject for NOV/DEC and get the required grade before you apply to the school of choice, you can go ahead with the D7 if you believe you work your way through to the top.
As stated before, sometimes it could be that one subject that is pulling you back, so if you have the opportunity to overlook it and go ahead to study for a profession, you should not relent.
However, if many of your grades are bad, consider writing again and getting better grades before you apply.
