SHS Courses in Ghana, Their Subjects & Job Opportunities
Is your ward making their way to Senior High School soon, and you’re considering selecting a course that best fits their abilities? You are at the right place. We have a list of all the courses offered at all high schools in Ghana and career pathways that your ward can follow after school.
Choosing the right course for your ward is very important because that will determine what they will be in the future. It will also contribute to how well they do in their studies while still in school. Do not allow your child to study a course for studying its sake.
Look out for their strengths and weaknesses and put a balance between the two to choose subjects that would favor your child’s learning abilities.
Out of all the subjects available under a particular course, only four can be chosen to be studied. Some subjects cannot be paired with others for specific reasons.
For instance, French and Twi cannot be learned together because they are both languages neither can literature, government, and Christian religious studies be studied together because they are all reading subjects and may conflict with each other. Thankfully, some schools already categorize their subjects, making it easier to choose.
