John Dramani Mahama was the former vice president (2009 -2012) and president of the republic of Ghana (2012 – 2017). He was born on 29th November, 1958 and was married to Lordina Mahama in 1992.
He has been married to Lordina Mahama for about two decades and the couple is blessed with 5 beautiful children named Shafik Mahama, Sharaf Mahama, Shahid Mahama, Jesse Mahama and Farida Mahama.
John Dramani Mahama’s wife, Lordina Mahama
John Dramani Mahama’s wife is Lordina Effah Mahama. She was the first lady of the president who was born in 6th March, 1963. She hails from the Nkoranza District of Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana.
Lordina Effah Mahama obtained her first degree in hospitality management and second degree in Governance Leadership from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and De Montfort university, UK respectively.
She was the first lady Mahama served as the role model for women empowerment, and advocate for HIV/AIDS, Breast, Cervical cancer, orphans and alleged witches awareness all in Ghana.

1. Shafik Mahama
Shafik Mahama is the first son of John Mahama. He celebrates his birthday every 21st of December but his exact year of birth remains unknown. Shafik on January 18, 2018, graduated with a degree in media and mass communication.
Shafik is a very gentle and disciplined man and is passionately pursuing a career in the media. He recently bagged a first degree in media studies from a university in Dubai.
On July 16, 2020, Shafik got married to an Algerian lady, Asma who is based in Dubai. Their wedding ceremony was a private event attended only by the immediate families of the bride and groom.
2. Shahid Mahama
Shahid is the second son of John and his wife Lordina Mahama. He is known by his friend as ‘the guy with much beard’. Calm and energetic, Shahid likes to enjoy his life privately, which has mad little to be known about him. He completed his secondary education at Ndewura Jakpa Senior School, Damongo, Ghana, while he went further with his university education at the University of Cape Coast.
3. Sharaf Mahama
Sharaf Mahama is the third son of John Mahama, and his wife Lordina Mahama. He celebrates his birthday on 21st September each year. Sharaf had his university education in Dubai. He is a football lover who previously signed a professional contract with Belgian top-flight side KV Mechelen.
In June 2015, he featured in ex Ghana captain Stephen Appiah’s testimonial match where he displayed his football skills. He currently plays for GPL club WAFA.
Sharif has promised to support young footballers in his hometown, Bole with donations to help them achieve their desires of becoming professional footballers.
4. Jesse Mahama
Jesse Mahama is the fourth and last son of John and his wife. He was born in 2003 and celebrates his birthday on August 22 each year. He is currently a student at one of the universities in Ghana. On father’s day 2020, Jesse and his siblings made a short video wishing their dad a happy Father’s Day. Their father later posted the video on his social media account to the admiration of man people.
5. Farida Mahama
Farida is the only daughter and last born of John Mahama. She celebrates her birthday every July 15. She is her father’s favorite as she is always seen around him. After the defeat of his dad’s party, NDC in the 2016 general election, She wrote a touching letter to him to mark the end of his tenure as the President.
Following a question and answer session she had on her social media page, one of her followers asked what she spends most of her time doing. She responded by saying ”eating and using my phone all day.” She further disclosed that she doesn’t have a good command of any local dialect but is trying to learn Twi.
