Regular Educational Qualifications

5 GCE ‘O’ Level credits, 5 RSA III or 5 GBCE credits

5 WASSCE passes, including English and Mathematics

But the student can also present

3 ‘A’ Level passes with at least grade ‘D’ in one subject excluding General Paper or 3 RSA III/LCCI III, ABCE or DBS(accounting/secretarial option) or teachers diploma, Dip in public finance and accountancy, HND, Diploma from any recognized university.

You can also present a degree from a recognized university or accountancy qualification from an accountancy body (ACCA, CIMA) or 6 WASSCE passes with at least aggregate 20 including English language and mathematics or 6 GBCE passes at least aggregate 20 including English language and mathematics.

Entry Requirement for Mature Students

Students must be at least 25 years old and possess any of the following educational requirements.

At least 5 ‘O’ Level credits or 5 RSA II, GBCE, or WASSCE passes, including English and Mathematics

apart from the above, they can present any of the following

2 ‘A’ Level passes excluding General Paper, 2 RSA III/ ABCE, or 2LCCI Stage III passes.

Relevant working experience in an account or audit office for a minimum of three years. And present an employer written confirmation of work experience as prescribed.

Three passport size photographs

Original and photocopy of any of the above educational certificates

Courses Offered at the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana

The diploma programs specialize in various business-related accountancy fields and prepare participants or students for specialized skills in Forensic Audit, Oil and Gas Accounting, Corporate Finance Management, Treasury and Risk Management, International Auditing and Governance, Public Sector Accounting, and Legal Accountancy Finance. ICAG offers Levels 1,2 and 3 courses, they are;

Business and corporate law (paper 1.3)

Business management and information systems(paper 1.2)

Financial accounting (paper 1.1)

Quantitative tools in business (paper 1.4)

Audit and assurance (paper 2.3)

Advanced audit and assurance (paper 3.2)

How to Apply

To apply, you will need to obtain registration and exemption forms from the ICAG secretariat or visit their website. Once you fill the registration form, please take it to the secretariat together with GHS 120 registration fee and GHS 120 for subscription for processing.
