To be a qualified nurse in Ghana, you need to attend a nursing training college and to do that, you need to apply after completing SHS with good results. After applying, you then check your application status and print it out for submission and approval.

Requirements for Nursing training college in Ghana

For degree course

  • You must have at least A1 – C6 in three core subjects, English, Maths and Science.
  • You must have at least A1 – C6 in any three elective subjects.
  • The total aggregate score should not exceed 24.

For diploma course

  • You must have at least A1 – C6 in three core subjects, English, Maths and Science.
  • You must have at least A1 – C6 in any three elective subjects.
  • The total aggregate score should not exceed 36.

How to apply to Nursing and Midwifery Training College in Ghana

  1. Purchase application codes from any Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) or Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) branch at a cost of Two Hundred Ghana Cedis (GH¢200.00).
  2. Upon payment, applicants will receive a Voucher giving them a unique PIN and Serial Number.
  3. Have a dedicated phone number and a personal valid e-mail address for all correspondence.
  4. You will need your residential and Ghana Post Digital Address.
  5. Use the PIN code and Serial Number to access the application form online at https://healthtraining.gov.gh
  6. Follow the instructions carefully and fill in the relevant stages of the admission process once the online application is opened.
  7. Note that only Applicants who meet admission requirements will be invited to attend a competitive interview at the school of choice.
  8. You can also visit any Health Training Institution for further assistance in filling the forms. Applicants are also advised that wrong filling of forms will affect admission.
  9. After application, you wait for admission. To know your admissions status, you need to check and after checking, you can then print out your admission letter.

How to check Nursing Training College admission status

Your admission status can be checked with the procedures below;

  1. Visit the status checker portal: https://apply.healthtraining.gov.gh/application
  2. Enter your Voucher Serial Number and Voucher PIN that you used for the application process.
  3. Click on the “Login” button to access your admission status.
  4. Proceed to Print Nursing Training admission letter.

NB: The successful applicants who made it to the admission stage will start receiving a text message from Health Training Institution (HTI) giving them an alert that they have received a provisional admission to one stated institution. Applicants who have not gotten their SMS alert concerning the nurses training admission should be expecting their SMS alert since the admission letters are disbursed in batches.
