The West African Examination Council came up with the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) to test the knowledge of students and usher them into various universities of their choice. Perhaps you would want to attend university elsewhere and you are wondering if there are schools abroad that accept SSCE, WASSCE, O’ Level, or GCE results.

There are many of them, in this article are numerous universities from 6 countries that will take your results and admit you, should you meet their requirements. But first of all, why study abroad? What are the advantages of studying abroad?

Why Study Abroad

Studying abroad introduces you to a new environment, you learn a new language, new cultures, and beliefs. You are exposed to good career opportunities, enhance your network and experience a different style of teaching and learning, not talking about how you will impress your employer.

Ghana does not lose human resources when you take your studies abroad, because, by all means, you will return to pass on the knowledge to a lot of people here. It is important to know that you can choose to work abroad for some time after school, but you need to return home and work here as well.

What to consider before applying for a University Abroad

To study abroad, you must consider the expenses. If you are not going on a scholarship, do you have enough money to cover your expenses? How about you select a school that will be close to where you stay? That brings us to the issue of accommodation.

Accommodation in some countries can be very expensive, Germany for instance. If you have family members or friends abroad, you are at an advantage, but if you don’t, prepare your pockets. If you are going to study in a country that does not speak English, try and study a little of their national language before going, it’s important.

What will you be studying? How will it benefit you in the future? Does this course guarantee a career pathway in the future?
