Why is December Popular in Ghana?
We all know that December is when people celebrate the Christian festival, Christmas, and people from far and near come together to make merry. People from abroad return to celebrate with their friends and family. The indigenes also get time off work at this time of the year, the liveliest and busiest time.
People literally save money all year round to have fun in December here in Ghana because it’s home. Celebrities, musicians, and Christian bodies organize concerts, parties, and jams to celebrate during the festivities. December is popular in Ghana because all the fun happens here.
Where Should I go for Christmas in Ghana?
The capital, Accra, is the place to be during the festivities. It’s the life of it. Gone are the days when we move from Accra to small towns to celebrity friends and family. Now, small-town people move to Accra for in-person celebrations.
People from abroad sometimes like to travel out of the capital, though. Travel to tourism hubs such as Hohoe, Ada, and Aburi. For some fun and adventure, all while escaping the hustle and bustle of the city.
However, tourist sites are not exactly quiet at that time of the year. You can go for Christmas in the capital city Accra, or visit tourist destinations in other regions as well. It all depends on what kind of fun you want to have.
Takeaway
Ghana is the place to be for the festivities. It’s going to be busy but fun and safe. Take advantage of the concerts featuring your favorite artists, and remember to drop all your baggage and have some fun.
