University of Cape Coast (UCC) popularly known as Cape Vars is one of the leading names in the tertiary education sector in Ghana. Located in the former capital of Ghana and the heart of the Central Region, Cape Coast, UCC is the light of the coast.
Aside from the name that the University of Cape Coast has, it is one of the best public universities in Ghana. It is known by many as one of the most disciplined universities in Ghana that train graduates for the outside job market.
Cape Vars was established in the year 1962 out of a dire need for highly qualified and skilled manpower in education. It started as a public institution to train graduate teachers for the second cycle institutions (Senior High School).

In the olden days, this course was not studied by many people but these days, it has begun to gain prominence. During the closure of schools, most parents were at home and required trained teachers in the early childhood education sector.
