Best Undergraduate Courses To Study At KNUST

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) is one of the leading public universities in Ghana. And undoubtedly, the best science and technology university in Ghana.

Located in the heart of the Ashanti Region of Ghana, KNUST is the biggest and most populated tertiary institution in the Kumasi Metropolis and the Ashanti Region as a whole.

It all began when the then King of the Ashanti’s, Nana Agyeman Prempeh I had the vision of establishing a university in his kingdom to drive modernization. His efforts proved futile due to the clash between the British people and the Ashanti people.

But after several years, Nana Agyeman Prempeh I’s successor who also happened to be his younger brother Nana Agyeman Prempeh II was able to help establish the university in 1949.

It started as the Kumasi College of Technology but later became a full-time University under the name Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

The world is going in the direction where people who are studying for them to be employed after school is becoming unemployed. In that regard, students need to study courses that will help them create their own jobs upon completion.

One of such courses is Agriculture. Gone are the days where agriculture was seen as a course for people who were not smart enough.

If some studies an agriculture course, upon completion, there will be no need for the graduate to go home and wait to get employed. He or she can start his/her own job and even employ people thereby reducing unemployment in Ghana.

Doctor of Optometry (OD)

Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) is one of the best schools to study the Doctor of Optometry program in Ghana. Although other institutions run this program, KNUST is one of the best.

BHM. Herbal Medicine

The Herbal Medicine course at KNUST is one of the best courses you should study if you have love herbal medicine. With this course, once you complete you can even establish your own herbal hospital or find a job at any of the herbal hospitals in Ghana.

As you and I can agree with, many people in Ghana are now beginning to re-visit the past, i.e. seek herbal medical care. As such, the demand for herbal doctors is on the rise in Ghana.

BSc. Civil Engineering

The demand for civil engineers in Ghana and other parts of the world has always been on the rise. And in Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) is one of few institutions that offer this course.

Have you ever thought of the people who are in charge of the construction of the roads, and stadiums in Ghana?

All this construction work is being supervised by civil engineers and you will also agree with me that, in Ghana, we always need roads to be constructed. One of the down side, this course involves a lot of hard work and can be sometimes difficult.

So, if you think, you will not be able to handle the stress, then I will urge you to choose another course.
