Best Courses To Study At University of Energy and National Resources
Ghana has a lot of public universities that are giving the private universities a run for their money. One of such public universities is the University of Energy and National Resources (UENR).
The University of Energy and National Resources (UENR) is a Ghanaian public university that was established on December 31st 2011 by an Act of the Parliament of Ghana, Act 830, 2011.
The main aim of the University of Energy and National Resources (UENR) is to provide leadership and management of energy and national resources. Aside from the main aim of energy and natural resources, the university also offers programmes in economics, law and policy, management, science, technology, and engineering.
Currently, the University operates under seven (7) schools, i.e. School of Engineering, School of National Resources, School of Sciences, School of Geosciences, School of Graduate Studies, School of Agriculture and Technology.
There are three (3) main University of Energy and National Resources (UENR) campuses in Ghana and are Sunyani, Nsoatre, and Dormaa Ahenkro.
The Sunyani campus houses the Main Administration of the University as well as the School of Sciences, School of Natural Resources, School of Graduate Studies, and the University Library.
School of Engineering would be located at the Nsoatre Campus and then remaining schools, i.e. School of Agriculture and Technology, and School of Geosciences would be located at the Dormaa campus.
In this article, I have recommended some of the best courses to study at the University of Energy and National Resources (UENR). And in no particular order, below are some of the best courses to study at UENR.
BSc. Natural Resource
Just as the name of the university suggests, one of the best courses to study at UENR is the BSc. Natural Resources.
With this course, students have the option to choose from Social Forestry, Ecotourism, Fisheries, and Aqua Culture, Land Reclamation and Restoration, and Forest Resource Management.
If you love the natural environment, then this is the perfect course for you to study at the University of Energy Natural Resources (UENR).
BSc. Computer Science
Computer Science is also one of the best courses at the University of Energy and National Resources (UENR) that I would recommend for you to study if you wish.
Computer Science is taking over the world and the COVID-19 disease has confirmed that. Since April, almost 50% of the companies in Ghana are working from home and this is facilitated by computer scientists and IT technicians.
If you love computers and a little bit of mathematics, then you are really going to love studying this program at the University of Energy and National Resources (UENR).
BSc. Civil Engineering
The demand for civil engineers in Ghana and other parts of the world have always been on the rise. And in Ghana, the University of Energy and National Resources (UENR) is one of the best tertiary institutions that offer the Civil Engineering course.
Have you ever thought of the people who are in charge of the construction of the roads, and stadiums in the world?
All this construction work is being supervised by civil engineers and you will also agree with me that, in Ghana, we always need roads to be constructed. To be honest with you, this course is very demanding and involves that you do a lot of reading and research.
But upon completion, you are going to find a place to work as a Civil Engineer and you would start making some cool cash.
BSc. Agriculture (with options in Animal OR Crop Production)
The world is going in the direction where people who are studying for them to be employed after school is becoming unemployed. To stop this, students need to study courses that will help them create their own jobs upon completion.
Gone are the days where agriculture was seen as a course for people who were not smart enough. Agriculture is now being offered by a lot of students all over the world.
If some studies an agriculture course, upon completion, there will be no need for the graduate to go home and wait to get employed. He or she can start his/her own job and even employ people thereby reducing unemployment in Ghana.
