Miss Harriet Lamptey advises youth to think ahead at graduation ceremony of the Nationwide Fire Academy

Miss Harriet Lamptey has advised the youth to look at the long term benefits of their activities instead of focusing solely on immediate gains. She said this at the graduation ceremony of the Nationwide Fire Academy, the Nation’s first youth fire service volunteer group, at the colorful event in Accra. The event saw the passing out of 200 fire trainees.

In her goodwill speech to the graduands, she urged them to work as a team, and embrace their individual differences. She also encouraged them to treat their task as their service to humanity and give it their best and all.

She applauded them for sticking through their tough trainings and coming out as successful fire fighters, when their peers were busy cooking up or indulging in ‘get rich quick’ schemes. She encouraged them to use the opportunity as a stepping stone to achieve greatness in the right direction.

She also commended the member of Parliament for Anyaa Sowutuom, the vision bearer of the project, for the laudable initiative, and the team of trainers and project managers for their dedication towards making the project a success.

The Nationwide Fire Academy is Ghana’s first youth volunteer group of fire fighters, who have been trained to advocate for fire safety in their communities and to support the Ghana National Fire Service in fighting fires within reach. Miss Lamptey is set to join them in their advocacy campains.
